The Center of Azerbaijani culture and literature after Yusif Vazir Chamanzaminli was opened in Uzbekistan

The Center of Azerbaijani culture and literature after Yusif Vazir Chamanzaminli, a well-known literary and public figure was opened at Urgenj State University under the project and organization of the Heydar Aliyev Azerbaijan Culture Center in Uzbekistan. The opening ceremony was organized within the framework of the "Azerbaijani culture and poetry week" held in Tashkent and Kharazm provinces of Uzbekistan under the project and organization of the Azerbaijan Cultural Center named after Heydar Aliyev in Uzbekistan.

Then the participants got acquainted with the Azerbaijani Culture and Literature Center named after Yusif Vazir Chamanzaminli.

Urgenj State University is one of the oldest higher education institutions of Khorezm province of Uzbekistan, was founded in 1925 and currently more than 20 thousand students are studying in 9 faculties of the university.

 

History of Azerbaijan, books, publications, discs, textbooks, national souvenirs, corners, portraits of the meetings of the heads of the country, maps, portraits of literary and artistic figures of Azerbaijan, portraits of artists, state attributes are placed, as well as equipped with necessary equipment, bookcases and office furniture.

Publications by the National Leader Heydar Aliyev, the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and printed products related to the literature, history, and culture of Azerbaijan were presented to the said Center.

A mini-library about Azerbaijan, our history, culture, literature, events, lectures and seminars about friendship between the two countries are planned to be held in the newly created Center.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, the Rector of Urgenj State University, Professor Bakhrom Abdullayev has expressed his satisfaction with the development of relations with Azerbaijan and assessed the establishment of such a center as an important event for the university. The rector expressed confidence that the said center will play an important role in the study of Azerbaijani culture, history, and literature by Uzbek youth, and further strengthening of cultural and literary relations between the two countries.

Samir Abbasov, Director of the Azerbaijan Cultural Center after Heydar Aliyev in Uzbekistan spoke about Azerbaijan-Uzbekistan cultural relations and gave information on the projects implemented by the Azerbaijan Cultural Center in this field. Samir Abbasov noted that about ten such centers have already been established by the Azerbaijan Cultural Center in leading universities and libraries of Uzbekistan.

The diplomat noted that, in addition to giving Uzbek youth the opportunity to learn about our culture and history, such centers will organize online Azerbaijani language courses in the future with the organization of the Azerbaijan Cultural Center.

He gave information about the well-known writer of Azerbaijan, Yusif Vazir Chamenzaminli, and valued the opening of such a center named after the writer in this university, where he was a teacher at the time, as an important event for our culture and literature.

Speaking later, Deputy Head of Khorezm Province of Uzbekistan Batir Saidov and Uzbek writer, translator, publicist Babakhan Sharif noted that the creation of such a center will facilitate the strengthening of friendship and cultural relations between the two brotherly nations, as well as the establishment of educational relations, and expressed their gratitude to the state of Azerbaijan. .

At the end of the event Rector of Urgench State University, Professor Bakhrom Abdullayev was presented with an exquisite book “Iravan Carpets”, dedicated to the art of carpet weaving, demonstrating the rich culture of Azerbaijan and the talent of our people.

It should be noted that prominent writer and public figure Yusif Vazir Chamanzaminli worked as a teacher at Urgenj State University (Urgenj Pedagogical Institute) in 1938-40.
