Today, National Library of Azerbaijan held an international conference on "Masters of Turkish literature" , dedicated to the 115th anniversary of Mir Jalal Pashayev, a classic of 20th century Azerbaijani literature, scientist, pedagogue, and the 100th anniversary of prominent writer , founder of the detective genre in Kazakh literature, playwright, public figure Kemal Tokayev.
Report informs that the event was attended by Minister of Culture of Azerbaijan Adil Karimli, Advisor to the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Malik Otarbayev, Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Azerbaijan Alim Bayel, President of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences Isa Habibbeyli, Rector of ADA University Hafiz Pashayev, Director of the National Library of Azerbaijan Karim Tahirov, Director of the National Library of Kazakhstan, Bakitjamal Ospanova, as well as prominent figures of science, literature and art of Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan.
Advisor to the President of Kazakhstan, Malik Otarbayev, noted that Kazakhs and Azerbaijanis have been friendly nations since ancient times, and read the congratulatory letter of the President of the country, Kasim-Jomart Tokayev, on the occasion of this event. The letter says: "Not only good neighborliness and economic cooperation, but also the moral ties of our respected writers and outstanding personalities contribute to the strengthening of relations between the brotherly countries."
Speaking at the event, Ambassador of Kazakhstan Alim Bayel noted that his country will always stand by Azerbaijan. The diplomat also emphasized that thanks to the dialogues of the presidents of both countries, comprehensive cooperation has now reached a new level.
Rector of ADA University Hafiz Pashayev said that today's event is symbolic: "2023 is a special year. This year we are celebrating the 100th anniversary of the opening of the National Library of Azerbaijan, the birth of National Leader Heydar Aliyev, as well as the 100th anniversary of the outstanding Kazakh writer, playwright and public figure Kemel Tokayev."
H. Pashayev noted that strong cooperation relations in the field of culture have been established between Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan. ADA cooperates with Kazakh universities: "Our university is also open to students from brotherly Kazakhstan. We offer them a scholarship named after Alimardan Bey Topchubashov."
During the conference, the participants gave reports on the life and work of M.Pashayev and K. Tokayev, and shared their views on the importance of bringing the Turkish people closer together through cultural interaction.
Within the framework of the event, the presentation ceremony of K. Tokayev's "Night Fire" published in Azerbaijani language and M.Pashayev's "Heart of the Mountains" has published in Kazakh language took place. Along with the presentation of the collection of the works of the masters of the artistic word of the Turkish world, a book and painting exhibition dedicated to their creativity was also organized.
