Institute of Literature held a meeting with the intelligentsia of Pakistan. The Pakistan scientists met with Associate Professor of the Punjab University Faiza Bash and Associate Professor of the University of Lahore Almas Khanum.
Welcoming the guests, Vice-President of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences, Director of the Institute of Literature, Academician Isa Habibbayli informed on the work done by the Institute to develop Azerbaijan-Pakistan literary relations and its action plan. At present, the Pakistan Literature Center operates at the Institute of Literature. The Institute of Literature and the Writers' Union of Azerbaijan have published "Selected Works" by Mohammad Iqbal. At the same time, the monograph "Muhammad Iqbal: Poet of Love and Thought" dedicated to the Pakistani poet Mohammad Iqbal was published.
In July, Institute will hold a conference on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of Azerbaijan-Pakistan relations. The rector of the University of Lahore and 11 staff members will attend the conference. The leadership of the academy and the ambassador of Pakistan to Azerbaijan are also expected to attend the conference. We plan to visit Pakistan in November informeded ANAS Vise-President .
Almas Khanum, an assistant professor at the University of Lahore, said, “We came here from Turkey. We met there at six universities in six cities. We have organized a conference in Lahore and we want to invite you. We expect five people from Azerbaijan to participate in the conference.
