TIKA Baku Coordinator Fatih Yilmaz said in his speech that we met here today in honor of the 780th anniversary of the birth of the great Turkish poet Yunus Emre. I would like to express my satisfaction with being here on the occasion of an international scientific conference. Our common language and historical ties are the basis of the unity and brotherhood between Turkey and Azerbaijan based on the concept of "one nation, two states". The great Turkish poet Yunus Emre, one of the most important figures of the Turkish language and culture, and the great poet of Azerbaijani literature Nizami Ganjavi are among the personalities who best represent this unity and brotherhood. The proclamation of 2021 as the "Year of Yunus Emre and Turkish" in Turkey and the "Year of Nizami Ganjavi" in Azerbaijan and the events organized for this reason are important in terms of understanding our two great poets and conveying their outdated messages to the world.
