Shymkent (Kazakhstan) held online conference on "Abay's Word" dedicated to the 175th anniversary of the great Kazakh poet and thinker Abay Kunanbayev as part of the "Shymkent - CIS Capital of Culture 2020" program. The event was attended by 253 delegates from the CIS and other foreign countries live and online. The paper by Vugar Ahmad, Doctor of Philologiy, Professor from Azerbaijan, head of the Department of “Press history and journalism” of the Institute of Literature after ANAS Nizami Ganjavi in online readings was met with interest.
Professor Vugar Ahmad was awarded a diploma established by the program "Shymkent - CIS Capital of Culture 2020".
It should be noted that, the honorary relay of the Union's Capital of Culture 2021 was handed over to Dushanbe (Republic of Tajikistan).
